Proactive in Iraq: Turnkey Solutions for Warzone Communication
Our presence in Iraq began in 2003 with an assignment to augment war fighting communication capabilities for the U.S. Army 4th Infantry Division. As our turnkey solutions took hold inside the war-torn country, we were given ever-increasing levels of responsibility. With assistance from trusted Iraqi employees both for translation skills and IT labor, we deployed our own military-trained personnel in the hostile environment to create a satellite communications system for the U.S. Department of Defense as part of Iraq reconstruction. Providing a vital means of communication for Iraq’s Ministry of Interior, the 250-node network crosses every province, enabling government officials in Baghdad to have secure voice and data communication with Iraqi police, commandos, border crossings, and command centers. In May of 2007 — after a unique negotiation process that has become a model for U.S. advisors — we signed a contract with the Iraqi government for the operation and maintenance of the system.
So it is that today, both in the field and from our headquarters in Killeen, we provide 24/7 management and support for the largest secure satellite-based Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network in the world.
First Responder Solutions > PCI in the Aftermath of Katrina

In 2005, PCI was employed by a global construction company to support critical communications efforts for FEMA immediately following Hurricane Katrina. The goals for FEMA team members were to assess damage to homes, businesses and key infrastructures caused by the hurricane, and to support government-funded human relief and clean-up activities in Louisiana. The requirement was to supply voice, data and video capabilities to mobile teams who were tasked with compiling daily assessment reports. These reports were rolled up to key White House staff through FEMA.
To overcome the hurdles posed by the aftermath of the storm (lack of cell power, electrical power, and rough roads, to name a few) PCI outfitted 40 RVs with VSAT capabilities to provide complete office communications systems. At the project’s peak, the workforce relying on PCI’s communications network numbered more than 4,000.
